Under the Articles of Confederation?

Under the articles, the US government was not allowed taxation, apart from them not having money to fund the continental army, what effects did this have? i am writing a term paper about it but i cant think of how not being able to tax affected them. please pitch in ideas, u dont even have to give me much details, ill search up the info you guys post. thanks.
